Broadsign Announces Agreement to Acquire Ayuda

Combined company will offer a unified out-of-home media inventory, marketing and sales management solution, streamlining static and digital OOH operations for media owners.

MONTREAL, April 24, 2019 — Broadsign International Inc., the leading digital out-of-home marketing platform, today announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire the industry’s premier out-of-home enterprise business solution, Ayuda Media Systems. Both companies are headquartered in Montreal. For out-of-home (OOH) media owners who have an increasingly complex mix of digital and classic inventory/locations, the combined power of Broadsign and Ayuda will enable them to streamline business operations across all of their inventory, digital and classic. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2019.

The OOH industry delivered US $38.6 billion of advertising in 2018, and for the first time 50% of revenue came from digital signage locations. As OOH media owners continue to drive forward, each needs a more unified solution for managing, selling and delivering all of their OOH advertising, regardless of format type.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to bring together two market leaders in OOH software. Together we can help media owners drive greater efficiency in their business while at the same time realize the full potential of the industry as it becomes increasingly digital,”  said Burr Smith, President and CEO of Broadsign. “The OOH industry has never been in a better place. However, to accelerate growth even more, media owners and their advertisers need access to the most innovative capabilities available, such as tools for revenue optimization and the ability to sell via programmatic buying channels — both of which we can help them access.”

Ayuda was recently recognized by Deloitte Canada as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in Canada, with 647% revenue growth since 2014. Their impressive client roster includes Adshel (Australia), Astral (Canada), OUTFRONT Media (Canada), Rouge Media (Canada), Ströer (Germany), VGI Global Media (Thailand), and VMO (Australia). We are delighted that Ayuda’s present CEO, Luc Filiatreault, and all of the talented members of the development, operations, sales and services leadership team members of Ayuda have agreed to join Broadsign.

“The historical coming together of Broadsign and Ayuda makes so much sense,” said Andreas Soupliotis, Founder of Ayuda Media Systems. “The combined offering of both companies creates an unprecedented best-ever offering for out-of-home media owners. I am thrilled to see these two powerhouse teams unite. The future of our industry is brighter than ever.”

“Ayuda’s robust business operations, financing, and ad delivery management system is a terrific fit with Broadsign’s market leading digital out-of-home marketing platform,” said Mark Boidman, Managing Director at PJ Solomon, which acted as Broadsign’s financial advisor on this transaction. “We are tremendously excited by the opportunity for the industry to take advantage of the combined strength of these two companies.”

This news comes after a record year for Broadsign. In 2018, the company evolved from a content management system to a DOOH marketing platform and launched three new products, including its market leading programmatic DOOH solution, Broadsign Reach. Seven months after its launch, Broadsign Reach has integrated with 17 DSP partners and has delivered campaigns in nine countries, for brands such as: foodora, John Lewis, Pepsi, Peugeot, SEAT, UFC, XITE Networks, and many more. With the acquisition of Ayuda Media Systems, the company will employ 230 people globally, and power over 425,000 signs around the world, including more than 180,000 digital signs. This transaction represents the first acquisition in Broadsign’s 15 year history. Future acquisitions will play an important role in Broadsign’s strategic plans, complementing organic growth and further enhancing its position as the market leader in OOH/digital signage software.

Ayuda Only Out-of-Home Winner in Deloitte’s Fast50 Canada and Fast500 North America

Ayuda, the leading business software provider for out-of-home (OOH) advertisers, is pleased and proud to announce that we have been ranked among both Deloitte’s Fast50 in Canada and Fast500 in North America for 2018. With 647% revenue growth since 2014, Ayuda is the only company in the out-of-home advertising technology space to be recognized on either list. While the ranking is determined by the rate of revenue growth, to qualify companies must also meet specific criteria about innovation and industry impact and not all companies with high growth are selected.

The Deloitte Technology Fast50 program winners consist of public and private companies in the technology sector, which have transformed the industry. Now in its 21st year, the program runs alongside the broader Deloitte North American Technology Fast500, with winners automatically eligible for this elite ranking. “Ranked at #36 in Canada and #160 in North America, Ayuda has distinguished itself in a booming technology industry,” relates Brian Lindy, CFO of Ayuda. “In 2016 we were a Companies-to-Watch, and this year we come through on that promise of successful growth.” On the Fast500 ranking in North America, Ayuda is among the Top 25 companies in Canada and the Top 10 companies in Quebec.

“From our founding, Ayuda has worked hard to maintain a high retention rate, among both our employees and our clients. These low turnover rates have been in large part due to the trust that we have built with clients, which has allowed us to build upon our achievements,” enthuses Luc Filiatreault, CEO of Ayuda. “All of our success could not have been achieved without the diligence of our team on three continents, many of whom have been with us for over a decade, who have woven client satisfaction into the fabric of this company.”

Ayuda’s mission is to ensure our clients have the best software and knowledge to continue their growth, in order to succeed and shape the future of the out-of-home advertising industry. Celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2018, we offer our clients a robust, complete business software suite that grows with them. Our forward-thinking team of technologists, out-of-home experts, and creative innovators are driven by their passion to see our clients succeed in the ever-evolving OOH advertising landscape.

Ayuda Media Systems and Blip Announce Partnership at NYDSW

Ayuda Media Systems, the leading business software provider for out-of-home advertisers, and Blip, North America’s most successful marketplace for driving new, incremental revenue to digital billboard operators, formally announced their partnership today. With the integration recently completed, established OOH operator Jones Outdoor shares its experience as the first Ayuda client to benefit from the incremental digital demand that Blip has generated and successfully executed on Jones’ digital billboard inventory via the Ayuda Platform’s CMS & player.

Jones Outdoor’s Sales Director Christine Rutchik, shares: As a 5+ year customer of Ayuda, running most of my daily sales operations on Ayuda’s platform, including the CMS and player, I was thrilled when they asked me to be the charter client to benefit from their partnership with Blip. I know many media owners who have benefited greatly from Blip; and I am proud to say that, through Ayuda, I am now able to seamlessly allocate and sell any unsold inventory in the Blip Marketplace as well. We are now bringing in new revenue from small businesses whose budgets don’t allow for a traditional buy, but who can benefit from reaching their audience at specific times and places within their budgets. The best part is how it all gets seamlessly scheduled to Jones’ boards through the integration with Blip, allowing us to continue with business as usual.

The adoption of Blip by Ayuda’s customers will allow Blip’s sizable, existing advertiser base to take advantage of the entirety of Ayuda’s supply and gain access to many additional markets, locations, audiences and advertising opportunities. Any existing Ayuda customer who is using Ayuda’s CMS and player can easily configure their current Ayuda software to work with Blip, and need only sign up to the Blip marketplace to get started. The integration also means that outdoor operators currently using the blip marketplace can now use Ayuda’s world-class OOH inventory management and business operations platform with seamless Blip integration, leaving their incremental revenue stream unperturbed should they migrate to Ayuda’s platform.

“Ayuda is a great company with exceptional people and powerful software,” explains Brent Thomson, CEO of Blip. “We’re excited for media owners on the Ayuda platform to now be able to participate in the marketplace and get access to the same new revenue as our existing media owner partners.”

“Ayuda’s Revenue Intelligence initiative announced earlier this year focuses Ayuda’s vision on optimizing media owner inventory yield,” shares Daniel Fleischer, Ayuda’s VP Business Development & Marketing. “One of the several key components of this strategy is to help the OOH operator garner incremental revenue that does not cannibalize their existing direct sales. The partnership between Blip and Ayuda is thus a perfect match strategically, in addition to our companies’ similar innovative and customer-first cultures. Blip’s offering is extremely effective and easy to use for advertiser and operator alike.”

Fleischer concludes: “Given the success and facility of the Jones Outdoor pilot together, I’m looking forward to opening up the ecosystem to all billboard operators in North America, independent and national alike. Soon, I look forward to working with Blip to bring their fantastic offering to our international clients, globally.”

Any existing Blip or Ayuda customer may contact either company to learn more and get set up today.
